Andrew W. Bagley is a senior counsel in the Labor & Employment Group, where he provides litigation and counseling services concerning a wide range of labor and employment matters.

Andrew devotes the majority of his practice to wage and hour laws. He advises companies on all facets of wage and hour compliance, ranging from employee classifications to timekeeping practices and payroll administration issues. For example, he recently worked closely with a national marketing company in the development of a new timekeeping system and related policies for its salesforce. Andrew has managed audits of classifications and payroll practices under the Fair Labor Standards Act for a software development company, an office equipment manufacturer, a trade association, and a law firm. Andrew also helps employers defend against Department of Labor audits of their wage and hour practices. He is a veteran of more than 20 wage and hour class actions, including nationwide actions against a telecommunications company, statewide actions against an armored transport company, and facility-wide actions against an auto parts manufacturer and a teaching hospital.

Andrew also devotes a significant part of his practice to non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, as well as to counseling employers concerning reductions in force and severance agreements.

Having grown up in Brussels, Belgium, Andrew speaks fluent French and regularly represents French and Belgian companies in the United States. Andrew received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Duke University in 1986 and his law degree in 1994 from the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Before attending law school, Andrew was a sales manager with Procter & Gamble.

Andrew is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland bars, as well as the bars of various federal district and appellate courts. He is a member of the Labor and Employment sections of the D.C. Bar and the American Bar Association.
