Fraud Alert

As a large law firm with a global presence, Crowell & Moring may be targeted by bad actors who misuse its name, the names of its partners or employees, or its logo or brand, to execute fraud on individuals. Using social media, the internet, or direct communications (such as email, text messages, or phone calls), bad actors can impersonate partners, employees, or representatives of Crowell & Moring, or falsely claim to be associated with Crowell & Moring, in an attempt to obtain sensitive personal or financial data. Such scams can take several forms, including requests relating to alleged financial settlements, alleged tax liabilities, or alleged unpaid and overdue invoices. They can also include offers to recover money or offers for employment, or include links to fake webpages that are designed to steal usernames and passwords.

For the avoidance of doubt, such use of the Firm’s name and the names of its personnel is not authorized.

Be vigilant in protecting yourself from financial and phishing scams. If you are the recipient of a communication purporting to be from Crowell & Moring personnel and you are unsure as to its source or veracity, or the communication contains unusual content or was delivered via social media or an online messaging service, please check the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting us directly at SecurityAlert@crowell.com or by calling your Crowell contact at a known telephone number.
