Overview

When businesses need assistance with brand management and protection or representation in litigation, challenges before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, or government investigations, Suzanne Giammalva offers practical and effective counsel to reduce exposure and solve disputes. Working collaboratively with her clients and colleagues, Suzanne assesses clients’ primary goals, develops legal strategies through research, drafts key legal documents, and engages with the NAD and government entities on behalf of clients.

Suzanne is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s New York office and a member of both the Advertising and Media and Intellectual Property groups as well as the State Attorneys General practice.

As part of her advertising and media practice, Suzanne represents clients in matters related to marketing practices, advertising challenges before the NAD, and compliance with consumer protection laws. She also frequently advises on matters related to investigations brought by the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general and actively tracks state attorneys general actions on behalf of clients.

Suzanne’s intellectual property practice focuses on representing and counseling clients on brand protection, portfolio management, trademark and copyright litigation and compliance, and trademark oppositions and prosecution.

In addition, Suzanne maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in civil and constitutional rights litigation, assisting individuals seeking asylum, and counseling nonprofit clients on IP matters.

Suzanne graduated from New York University School of Law in 2019, where she served as executive articles editor for the Annual Survey of American Law. During law school, Suzanne worked as an intern at Pace Women’s Justice Center, a center advocating for survivors of domestic violence, and as a summer associate in Crowell’s New York office. She also served as a spring semester intern at the New York County District Attorney’s Office and as a judicial intern for the Hon. John G. Koeltl of the Southern District of New York.
