San Francisco – May 29, 2025: Stacey Geis, former deputy assistant administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, has joined Crowell & Moring’s Environment, Energy and Natural Resources and White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement groups as senior counsel in its San Francisco office. Geis brings over 25 years of experience, at the federal and state levels, in environmental law and policy, litigation, and criminal and civil enforcement. 

Washington – May 21, 2025: Crowell & Moring has launched “Crisis Handbook: A Desktop Investigations Guide,” an updated, in-depth resource designed to help companies respond effectively and strategically in the face of a corporate crisis.

Los Angeles – May 5, 2025: Crowell & Moring partners Agustin D. Orozco and Jennie Wang VonCannon have been named to the LA Times Studios’ 2025 list of Legal Visionaries. The list spotlights the “best and brightest in a large and highly competitive world of Southern California professionals” who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their practice, their firm, and the community.

Washington – March 7, 2025: The Burton Awards honored Crowell & Moring partner Joanna Rosen Forster, counsel Jacob Canter and Derick D. Dailey, and associate Matt Menezes with Law360’s Distinguished Legal Writing Award for their article discussing a Supreme Court ruling and its impact on social media companies. The award will be presented at a gala reception at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. on Monday, May 19.

Alexander Kramer, a former assistant chief in the Department of Justice Criminal Division’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit, joins Crowell & Moring as partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Kramer brings more than 15 years of experience as a federal prosecutor and in private practice to the firm’s White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement Group.

Crowell & Moring elected 12 new partners effective January 1, 2025. The firm also promoted four lawyers to the senior counsel and 25 associates to counsel.

Washington – December 9, 2024: Securities Docket has named Thomas A. Hanusik, a partner in Crowell & Moring’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group, to its “Enforcement Elite” list for 2024. The list identifies the best securities enforcement defense lawyers in the industry and includes key players in some of the most significant SEC enforcement matters over the past few decades. According to the publication, the “Enforcement Elite” are “the lawyers you would turn to if you, your company or a family member were faced with an important SEC enforcement matter.”
