Joshua Sohn has joined Crowell & Moring, bringing more than 25 years of experience as a litigator handling a wide range of commercial and regulatory matters, including complex disputes involving financial services, real estate, construction, and securities.

LawWorks has shortlisted Crowell & Moring U.K. LLP at its annual Pro Bono Awards. The firm has been shortlisted in the Best International Pro Bono Award and Best Contribution by a Small or Medium Firm categories.

The Diversity and Flexibility Alliance has recognized Crowell & Moring with the “Tipping the Scales” award for having a diverse partner class consisting of 50 percent or more women. Crowell & Moring is among 78 firms to receive this honor in 2023 and this year marks the fourth year that the firm has been recognized.

The Recorder recognized Crowell & Moring partners Chahira Solh and Sima Namiri-Kalantari at the annual California Legal Awards, held on November 2 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

Crowell & Moring ranked nationally in 20 practice areas in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms.” In addition, the firm was ranked in 39 metropolitan categories.

Lawyers Alliance for New York named Crowell & Moring an Institutional Honoree at the 2023 Cornerstone Awards.

Crowell & Moring was saddened to learn of the passing of Ridgway M. ‘Ridge’ Hall, Jr., a founding member of the firm.

History was made in September as residents in the Town of Federalsburg, Md. elected the Town’s first Black council members—Darlene Hammond and Brady James. Ms. Hammond and Ms. James were officially sworn into office earlier this month. Before then, the Town had experienced all-white rule for its 200-year history. This dramatic change was brought about in substantial part by a lawsuit filed by Crowell & Moring and the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland.

The National Law Journal has named Michelle D. Coleman, counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Government Contracts Group, to its 2023 list of D.C. Rising Stars.

Crowell & Moring has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus status for 2023 – our second consecutive year, along with Mansfield Certification for the fifth consecutive year. The Mansfield Rule measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and/or lawyers with disabilities — at least 30 percent of the candidate pool — for significant leadership and governance roles and client pitch teams, as well as promotions to equity partner and senior lateral hiring decisions.

The Daily Journal has named Crowell & Moring’s Sima Namiri-Kalantari to its “Top Forty Under 40 2023” list. The list recognizes prominent lawyers in California under the age of 40.
