LawWorks Shortlists Crowell & Moring at Annual Pro Bono Awards

London – November 9, 2023: LawWorks has shortlisted Crowell & Moring U.K. LLP at its annual Pro Bono Awards. The firm has been shortlisted in the Best International Pro Bono Award and Best Contribution by a Small or Medium Firm categories. The awards “celebrate the best legal pro bono activities undertaken by organizations and individuals and the positive impact they have had on those helped.” The winners will be announced at the LawWorks Annual Pro Bono Awards ceremony on December 5^that the Law Society, Chancery Lane, London.

LawWorks is a charity working in England and Wales to connect volunteer lawyers with people in need of legal advice, who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay, with the not-for-profit organisations that support them.

The firm was shortlisted in the Best International Pro Bono Award category in part for work done by the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. In 2022, the firm partnered with the International Legal Foundation and their partners at the Public Defender Society of Nepal on a project aimed at shining a light on the state of juvenile justice and conditions of confinement of children and young people in detention in Nepal.

In the Best Contribution by a Small or Medium Firm category, the firm was shortlisted in part for the extensive partnerships established through pro bono clearinghouses that connect the firm with organizations that need support.
