Los Angeles – November 22, 2021: The Daily Journal has named partners Jason C. Murray and Chahira Solh to its 2021 list of “Top Antitrust Lawyers.” The award recognizes the “leading California attorneys specializing in plaintiffs, defense, and government antitrust work.”
Murray is co-chair of the firm's Antitrust & Competition Group and head of the Los Angeles office. His practice focuses primarily on antitrust litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, antitrust counseling, and complex commercial litigation. He has tried or arbitrated numerous matters as first chair and has successfully argued before the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal. He also routinely counsels clients on antitrust compliance issues and represents them before the DOJ and FTC in competition matters.
The Daily Journal recognized Murray for his work as a health care antitrust lawyer, including how his practice changed due to the pandemic. One of his clients responded to the need for medical equipment and pharmaceuticals by collaborating with competitors, which Murray helped them navigate due to the regulatory concerns.
Solh serves as the head of Crowell & Moring's Orange County office, and is a member of the firm's Antitrust & Competition Group, as well as the firm’s Management Board. Her practice focuses on counseling on all aspects of antitrust law, including litigation, joint venture analysis, and merger control. She regularly defends clients in civil antitrust litigation as well as represents many Fortune 500 companies as plaintiffs in antitrust recovery actions. Solh also provides counseling on merger clearance, joint ventures, trade association law, the Robinson-Patman Act, and distribution and vertical issues, including pricing policies.
The Daily Journal recognized Solh for her “defense of major corporations and smaller businesses against antirust class actions.” Solh also represents corporations when they sue other businesses for violations of antitrust law, including price-fixing issues. The publication also noted that Solh is a member of the firm’s Racial Equity Task Force, quoting her as saying, “I think it’s really important to help the next generation of lawyers…look like what the state and country look like.”
