Human Rights First Honors Rosa Morales with Pro Bono Star Award

New York – June 20, 2025: Human Rights First honored Crowell & Moring counsel Rosa M. Morales with a Pro Bono Star Award in recognition of her “outstanding dedication and commitment to pro bono representation.”

Human Rights First honored Morales for her efforts leading the representation of Ms. R, an immigrant seeking asylum “after enduring a lifetime of harm due to her sexual orientation, gender expression, and her efforts to live a normal family life with her female partner and two children.” The organization notes that Rosa assembled a “compelling evidentiary submission and skillfully guid[ed] the case through two challenging and prolonged hearings.” Due to these efforts, asylum was secured for Ms. R and her family.

In addition to Morales, the team included partner Juan Arteaga, associates Paulette Marie Rodríguez López, Rachel Lesser, Tara Singh, and Cydney Campbell, and support staff Virginia Martin, and Jena Talarico.
