Los Angeles – July 15, 2021: The Los Angeles Business Journal has named partner Jennifer S. Romano to its 2021 Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys list. The series recognizes “the very best litigators and trial attorneys” in the region. Romano serves as co-chair of Crowell & Moring’s Litigation Group and is a former member of the firm’s Management Board.
The Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted Romano’s role representing the University of California in a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security: “Among her recent successes was her work on behalf of the Regents of the University of California amid the COVID-19 pandemic, when the DHS announced it would rescind visas of international students enrolled in online classes. Romano and her team went to work and the Administration backed down and reverted to the status quo. The win was largely made possible by the swift, decisive action by UC in filing the lawsuit.”
The publication also noted Romano’s extensive experience defending companies in commercial litigation and against class action suits, particularly in the healthcare space, adding: “when stakes are high and corporate reputations hang in the balance, an array of the nation’s largest companies turn to Jennifer Romano.”
Romano represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation. Her clients include major health plans, retail and consumer products companies, and professional services firms. Romano was previously named by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the Top Women Litigators in California.
