Washington, D.C. – October 6, 2014: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that Jennifer S. Romano, a partner in the firm's Litigation Group, was elected president of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA). Romano was installed as WLALA's president on September 18, at the organization's annual Awards and Installation dinner.
Established in 1919, WLALA has been a powerful and respected advocate for women attorneys, women in general, persons of color, the disadvantaged, and the under-represented in Southern California. With nearly 1,200 members, WLALA members are an integral part of the largest local women's bar association in California.
As a partner in the firm's Litigation Group, Romano focuses her practice on defending companies against consumer class actions, litigating on behalf of health care companies, and representing companies in high stakes litigation matters. She represents clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration. Her clients include major health plans, retail and consumer products companies, and professional service firms.
