Washington, D.C. – March 16, 2012: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized as the 2012 "U.S. Law Firm of the Year in Brussels" by the Belgian Legal Awards, which honor the best law firm and in-house lawyers in Belgium based on excellence, continuity, and innovation in the legal sphere. The firm was recognized during an awards ceremony held on March 15 at the Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels.
The "U.S. Law Firm of the Year in Brussels" award specifically recognizes a firm that has the majority of their lawyers based in the United States but shows significant progress in building a presence in Brussels and Europe overall. Judges include general counsel as well as attorneys from international law firms with offices in Brussels. In choosing the winners, they consider key transactions during the year and success in recruitment, both in terms of recent additions and the integration of foreign lawyers into the U.S. firm.

The firm was further recognized for its "multi-competency team with several strong practice areas, investment in the local community, interesting strategic vision, and a great mix of U.S., Belgian, and foreign lawyers." Belgian Legal also noted that Crowell & Moring has had a "continuous presence in Belgium for 20 years."
