Laura Foggan Named Among Insurance Business America's Elite Women

Washington – June 28, 2021: Crowell & Moring partner Laura Foggan, chair of the firm’s Insurance/Reinsurance Group, was named to Insurance Business America's 2021 Elite Women list. This honor recognizes women leaders for their professional accomplishments and meaningful contributions to the insurance industry as a whole.

Foggan is one of the industry’s leading attorneys helping insurers and reinsurers tackle emerging issues and maximize opportunities in the digital age. She litigates complex, and often high-profile, insurance disputes, including coverage for product liability, mass tort, and privacy claims in state and federal courts. Her practice encompasses trial and appellate matters, as well as arbitration and mediation of significant disputes. Foggan has participated in more than 300 appeals nationwide and has made significant contributions to the development of key insurance law precedents across the United States.

Senior DOJ Appellate Attorney Elizabeth Hecker Joins Crowell & Moring, Bolstering Education Practice

Elizabeth Hecker, former acting deputy chief and special litigation counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division’s Appellate Section, has joined Crowell & Moring as senior counsel in the Litigation Group. Hecker brings more than two decades of experience leading litigation in the federal court of appeals, with a focus on cases involving education and matters related to Title IV, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
