London – November 11, 2025: Computer Weekly has named Emma Wright, co-chair of Crowell & Moring’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Group, to its “50 Most Influential Women in UK Tech” list for 2025. The annual list recognizes women who are driving innovation and leadership within the UK technology sector.
Ranked among the top ten on this year’s list—and the only lawyer recognized—Wright brings over 25 years of experience representing leading technology companies and governments on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Wright works with clients from all parts of the tech ecosystem in areas such as global privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), telecommunications, cloud, and convergence. Wright’s strategic advice is valued for guiding organizations through complex government, regulatory challenges, and high-stakes commercial transactions. She brings a wealth of experience from her background as a UK government policy advisor and extensive private practice in both the UK and internationally.
Additionally, Wright is co-founder and director of the Interparliamentary Forum on Emerging Technologies, a not-for-profit organization that supports a global network of legislators sharing best practices for regulating AI and emerging technologies. She is a founding member of the global UNESCO Women4EthicalAI initiative, collaborates with the University of Oxford in its AI in Education Hub, and participates as a UNESCO Global Expert without Borders for AI regulation.
Wright joined Crowell’s London office in April 2025, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in AI, technology, data privacy, and intellectual property. The office recently expanded its focus on areas that intersect with technology and innovation, welcoming a top-ranked team of IP lawyers and support staff led by Dr. Justin Hill, Head of Intellectual Property (UK), and partner Marie Jansson Heeks, along with digital, advertising, and brand protection partner Rafi Azim-Khan, counsel Clare Sellars, and associate Grace Tang, who specialize in data protection and privacy.
