Crowell & Moring’s Dj Wolff Named to Global Investigations Review's “40 Under 40” List

Washington – September 13, 2017: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that David (Dj) Wolff, a counsel in the firm's International Trade Group, has been named to Global Investigations Review's top "40 Under 40" list. The list features "accomplished young investigations practitioners who will help shape the future of this fast-evolving area of law."

Wolff was recognized for managing a 45-person team – composed of lawyers in three countries from two law firms – on an internal investigation of a U.S.-based Fortune 50 manufacturer's recently acquired U.K. subsidiary and its compliance with U.S. and U.K. economic sanctions. Wolff's career highlights also include leading internal investigations during two in-house secondments: first, as the global head of economic sanctions for a U.S. systemically important financial institution (SIFI); and second, as the lead sanctions lawyer for an EU bank's Dubai branch.

Wolff currently splits his time between the firm's Washington and London offices advising U.S. and non-U.S. clients on every phase of their compliance program for economic sanctions, export controls, anti-boycott, and anti-money laundering rules and regulations. Working across borders, he regularly counsels clients, in coordination with local colleagues, on practical ways to manage the potential conflict of legal issues that can arise from the intersection of the broad reach of U.S. sanctions and export controls with local requirements in third countries, including "blocking" statutes, data privacy and localization requirements, and anti-discrimination statutes.
