Washington – June 1, 2018: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that Cari N. Stinebower, a partner in the firm’s International Trade and White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement groups, and Ashley R. Riveira, a counsel in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group, have been recognized by Latinvex as "Top 100 Female Lawyers" for the second consecutive year. Stinebower and Riveira were noted in the "FCPA & Fraud" and "Arbitration and Litigation" categories, respectively.

The list features 100 lawyers from 58 firms based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Cayman Islands, and British Virgin Islands. Selections were made based on individuals’ recent track record on major deals and business, the firm’s prominence in Latin America, and recognition from third parties, including Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.

Latinvex highlighted Stinebower’s work advising U.S. multinationals in Mexico and Panama, as well as several U.S. firms on matters relating to Cuba. Working closely with colleagues in the Privacy & Cybersecurity, Financial Services, Corporate, and Insurance and Reinsurance practices, she counsels clients on compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, Bank Secrecy Act, and anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations, export controls and anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws and regulations. She works with financial institutions and multinational corporations to develop compliance programs, conduct AML and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) risk assessments, conduct internal investigations, respond to government investigations, and address potential conflicts of law arising from non-U.S. data privacy and "blocking" laws and regulations. Stinebower is also a member of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group steering committee.

Riveira’s practice focuses on international arbitration and litigation, and she is recognized by Latinvex for representing claimant Pac Rim in arbitration at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Her international experience also includes disputes involving Mongolia, El Salvador, Libya, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Uzbekistan, and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in fora such as the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, as well as ad hoc arbitrations conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and disputes arising under the United States-Central American-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) and the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT).

Latinvex publishes daily news and weekly analysis on Latin America business; its coverage extends to the region’s legal sector, including rankings of law firms and individual lawyers.

No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Bars of, or any courts in, the jurisdictions in which the lawyers are admitted to practice.
