Daily Journal Names Joanna Forster to 2026 “Top Women Lawyers” List

San Francisco – June 11, 2026: The Daily Journal has named Joanna Forster to its 2026 list of “Top Women Lawyers” in California. The annual award series recognizes the successes and victories of women lawyers in the courtroom and at the negotiating table, as well as their advancements in the legal industry. Forster, who has over two decades of experience in government, in-house, and private practice, is a partner in Crowell & Moring's Litigation Group. 

The publication noted Forster's experience working on complex commercial disputes and regulatory matters across global jurisdictions, observing that her varied background, including time as a prosecutor with the California Attorney General's office and a tenure as general counsel to a global e-commerce company, gives her a vantage point few litigators can claim. The Daily Journal highlighted how her in-house experience, working across multiple countries, gave Forster a ground-level understanding of how legal decisions reverberate across jurisdictions. 

The Daily Journal also drew attention to Forster's work at the intersection of technology and law, including a trade secrets matter going to trial involving the ownership of AI models and an appeal raising a novel question about whether founders and officers retain indemnification rights when their company comes under investigation. The publication noted Forster's deepening focus on California pricing and e-commerce cases, exploring the boundaries of what companies can represent about their prices online, as well as emerging questions around surveillance and personalized pricing.
