ICPHSO's 2013 Annual Meeting & Training Symposium
February 26-March 1, 2013
The February 2013 Symposium marks the 20th anniversary of ICPHSO! They will celebrate this important milestone with special people and activities including a performance by the Capitol Steps, a political satire troupe known for their current, cutting, and non-partisan humor! In addition, over the course of the conference, they will be treated to nostalgic reminders of the early days.
Most importantly, the substance of the 2013 conference promises to cover issues of importance to all attendees. The first day of the conference will focus on Obligations in the Supply Chain: Reporting Requirements and Recalls. In addition, tours of the CPSC Engineering Lab in Rockville, MD will be offered, with transportation provided.
The second day will be packed with informative workshops covering topics such as: port surveillance, tools for understanding and anticipating product failures, “green” chemistry and chemicals of concern, and best practices for effective compliance with an increasing number of international safety standards and regimes.
CPSC is hosting a full day of workshops this year. With evolving requirements posed by CPSIA as well as existing regulations, CPSC Day promises to be very informative. They also expect that it will be a very interactive program, allowing for Q&A and interaction between attendees and staff.
Lynn Levitan will be speaking on California's Green Chemistry Initiative. Bridget Calhoun will be speaking on "Best Practices for Effective Compliance with an Increasing Number of International Safety Standards and Regimes."
