Washington, November 21, 2018: Novume Solutions, Inc., a holding company of leading professional services and technology firms, entered into a definitive agreement effective November 14, 2018, where Novume will acquire the business of OpenALPR Technology, Inc. for cash; an option to purchase restricted stock of Novume; and Novume’s assumption of certain liabilities of OpenALPR.

New York– October 24, 2018: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce the addition of John E. Davis as senior counsel in the firm’s E-Discovery & Information Management Practice in New York. With more than 20 years of experience, Davis will advise on complex e-discovery issues in disputes and investigations, as well as privacy, cybersecurity, and other emerging technology issues. He was most recently with UBS, where he was executive director and counsel in the Litigation and Investigations groups and head of its Global Complex Cases – E-Discovery unit. Davis will co-chair Crowell & Moring’s E-Discovery & Information Management Practice, along with Washington-based partners Jeane A. Thomas and Michael W. Lieberman.

Brussels – September 27, 2018: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Gunther Meyer as senior counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Brussels. With nearly 20 years of experience, Meyer will advise clients on intellectual property rights, transfer of technology and trade secrets (including knowhow protection). He joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland, where he led the Brussels Intellectual Property Practice.

Washington – September 7, 2018: The U.S. Court of Federal Claims ruled earlier this week in favor of Montana Health Co-Op, granting its cross motion for summary judgment and denying the U.S. government’s motion to dismiss in the first Cost-Sharing Reduction (CSR) case under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). CSR is a provision under the ACA which offers a discount to qualifying individuals to lower the cost of deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance through tax credits.

Washington – September 5, 2018: Crowell & Moring is pleased to announce that it is participating in the Diversity Lab’s “Mansfield Rule 2.0” certification program. The program mandates that law firms affirmatively consider more women, minority, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for recruitment and advancement. Firms that meet the Mansfield standard have candidate pools for firm leadership roles, partner promotions, and lateral hiring that are at least 30 percent women, minorities, and LGBTQ+.
