Washington – April 1, 2022: Patexia namedCrowell & Moring as both a Top 20 “Most Active” and “Best Performing” law firm in Section 337 unfair import investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, according to the 2022 ITC Intelligence Report. The report compares docket data on the 367 firms and 4,628 attorneys that appeared in Section 337 investigations over the past six years.

Washington – March 31, 2022: Latinvex has named Crowell & Moring as one of Latin America’s Top Law Firms of 2022. Overall, the firm is listed among the top 50 global firms ranked for their legal work in Latin America. For the individual categories, the firm ranked second in Labor, sixth in Trade & Sanctions, sixth in Aviation, 24th in Arbitration, and 25th in Corporate/M&A. Latinvex also named Crowell & Moring partner Ian A. Washington – March 28, 2022: BTI Consulting named Crowell & Moring to its Client Service A-Team 2022 in recognition of the ways the firm has provided top-notch service to clients. Crowell has been ranked in the Client Service A-Team every year for the past decade. The firm achieved a ranking this year of 31st out of 280 law firms, and was also recognized as one of the Most Improved Law Firms in this category.

Los Angeles, CA –March 28, 2022: The closing of Crowell & Moring client Firefly Aerospace’s $75 million Series B preferred equity issuance and the secondary sale of Noosphere Venture Partners’ equity in Firefly to AE Industrial Partners LLP (AEI) was announced. The transaction values Firefly above its May 2021 Series A valuation of more than $1 billion. These two transactions constitute a change of control of the company, as well as providing Firefly with the resources to deliver new innovations in space launch vehicles.

Brussels – March 17, 2022: Chambers and Partners has ranked four Crowell & Moring practice groups and five individual lawyers in the Chambers Europe 2022 guide. The rankings are driven by independent interviews of clients and members of the legal community.

New York – March 8, 2022: City & State New York has again named Glen G. McGorty to its 2022 Law Power 100 List. The list recognizes New York lawyers who are “influential in their field” and “powerful in New York’s governmental landscape.” This is the third consecutive year McGorty has been named to the list.

Chicago – March 7, 2022:  World Trademark Review has recognized Crowell & Moring as a top trademark firm on both sides of the Atlantic, listing Crowell both in the U.S. national rankings and Belgium national rankings. In addition to its national rankings, Crowell & Moring received high regional recognition in Illinois and California. 

New York – March 4, 2022: Crowell & Moring’s Jennifer K. Grady, Richard J. Lee, and John A. Clark have authored a chapter in the recently published second edition of The Handbook of Loan Syndications and Trading. According to the book’s publisher, the Loan Syndications and Trading Association, “The Handbook covers all aspects of the primary and secondary loan markets, ESG, direct lending, and so much more.”

Washington – February 28, 2022: Crowell & Moring is pleased to announce that counsel Monty Cooper has been selected as a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2022 class of Fellows. In addition, associate Andrea Charles and counsel Kayvan M. Ghaffari have been named to the LCLD 2022 class of Pathfinders.

Washington – February 24, 2022: Relativity has named John E. Davis and Jeane A. Thomas of Crowell & Moring to its list of 2022 AI Visionaries. The list recognizes “early adopters of AI, particularly in areas where managing risk is a top priority and the approach to technology adoption has traditionally been more conservative.”

San Francisco – February 23, 2022: Christopher J. Banks joins Crowell & Moring’s San Francisco office as a partner in its Litigation and Labor & Employment groups, bringing more than two decades of experience litigating commercial and labor and employment matters, including employee mobility and trade secret misappropriation disputes. Banks is a trial lawyer who helps companies--from startups to the Fortune 500--solve problems concerning founders’ disputes and “business divorces,” contract disputes, trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition, employee departures, wage and hour claims, Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, and other commercial and labor and employment matters. He also advises clients and litigates in matters involving intellectual property rights, technology licensing and development arrangements, and breach of fiduciary duty and other business torts.

San Francisco – February 16, 2022: Crowell & Moring represented Marshall Wace, a global alternative investment manager, in a $41.5 million Series B round of funding of Parse Biosciences.  Marshall Wace co-led the transaction with Janus Henderson Investors, with Soleus Capital, Logos Capital and Bioeconomy Capital also participating.  Parse Biosciences is a Seattle-based company with the mission of accelerating progress in human health and scientific research through their pioneering approach for single cell sequencing. Single-cell sequencing has already enabled groundbreaking discoveries which have led to new understandings of cancer treatment, tissue repair, stem cell therapy, kidney and liver disease, brain development, and the immune system.  The transaction was led by partners Jon O'Connell (San Francisco) and Anne Li (New York), and included partners Rashad Morgan (Chicago), counsel Matt Pelnar (San Francisco), and associates Karla Arias (Washington, D.C.) and Justin Lurie (New York).

Washington – February 7, 2022: Lawdragon namedCrowell & Moring partners Mark Plevin and Monique Almy to its 2022 list of 500 Leading Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers, which honors lawyers who are skilled in financial restructuring, in and out of the courtroom, and assist debtors, creditors, and others involved with distressed companies.

Washington – February 3, 2022: Law360 has named Crowell & Moring’s Government Contracts Group a Practice Group of the Year for 2021. This marks the 12th consecutive year that the publication has recognized the group with this distinction.

Doha – February 2, 2022: LexisNexis Middle East has shortlisted Crowell & Moring’s Denise McLaughlin in the Construction Lawyer of the Year category of the Women in Law Awards in the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

Washington – January 31, 2022: The Human Rights Campaign Foundation awarded Crowell & Moring a score of 100 percent on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index, its national benchmarking survey and report. The Foundation rates companies based on their corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. This year marks the 12th consecutive year that the firm has been recognized by HRC.
