From Covert to Kinetic: Escalating Cyber Threats in a Time of Conflict
Webinar | 04.21.26, 10:00 AM EDT - 11:00 AM EDT | CLE Offered
As geopolitical tensions escalate around the world—from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine to rising hostilities involving Iran—the line between cyber warfare and kinetic military action has never been more blurred. Nation-state actors are no longer limiting their aggression to the battlefield. They are targeting critical infrastructure, hospitals, water treatment facilities, the energy sector, and private enterprises with increasing sophistication and boldness. Last week, six federal agencies issued a joint advisory warning that Iranian-affiliated threat actors are targeting the water and waste, energy, and government services and facilities sectors.
Join us for an urgent and timely discussion on what these escalating threats mean for your organization—and what you can do about them today.
We will address topics such as:
- Covert Reconnaissance and Pre-Positioning
- Transitioning to Kinetic Attacks
- Best Practices to Take Now
The webinar will feature Matthew Ferraro and Rajeev Raghavan, both Crowell partners who joined the firm after serving in high level national security roles in the U.S. government. Matthew served as Senior Counselor for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technology to the Secretary of Homeland Security. As a principal advisor to the Secretary and a member of DHS’s leadership team, he worked at the heart of U.S. government policymaking around AI and cybersecurity. Rajeev served as special counsel to the FBI Director and was at the center of the FBI’s efforts to combat cybercrime and national security threats. He supported the Director’s oversight of the FBI’s national security and criminal programs and worked closely with senior officials at DOJ, intelligence and law enforcement partners, the White House, and Congress on cybersecurity strategy and policy, AI, federal surveillance authorities, and legislative oversight. Rajeev was also a cyber federal prosecutor in the District of Maryland and led complex, transnational cybercrime matters.

Digital Product Passports and Digital Material Passports: What You Need to Know (Part 2)
Digital Product Passports are set to transform how products are sold across Europe. For consumers, this means unprecedented access to product information. Sustainability and compliance data, alongside other key product details, will become far easier to access and compare than ever before. As a “single source of truth” for products, DPPs may also enable EU authorities to identify non-compliance more quickly and efficiently, potentially restricting or preventing non-compliant products from entering the European market.
