10th Annual In-House Recovery Conference
February 28 - March 1, 2024
We were pleased to celebrate a decade of collaboration with clients at our 10th Annual In-House Recovery Conference, held recently in picturesque Dana Point, California. This exclusive event brings together a community of in-house counsel and leaders from some of the most sophisticated and cutting-edge affirmative recovery programs in the country. The three-day event included speakers and panelists covering emerging issues, including the following:
- Obstacles at all stages of establishing and growing a successful in-house recovery program.
- Updates on current trends and opportunities, including antitrust, price-fixing, litigation finance, bankruptcy, government programs and contracts, intellectual property, international trade, supply chain, tax, and other areas where overcharges may be recaptured.
The event began with a sunset welcome reception, followed by a-day-and-a-half of programming, fine dining, entertainment, social activities and opportunities for networking. Attendees and panelists represented a number of Fortune 500 companies and other large organizations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, AT&T, Centene, Chipotle Mexican Grill, General Mills, The Home Depot, Prime Therapeutics, McDonald’s Corporation, Mondelēz International, Suzuki Motor USA, United Airlines, and Whirlpool, among others.

Day Two, February 29, 2024: Dinner and Keynote
Carol Lam, Keynote Speaker
From 2002 to 2007, Carol Lam served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of California. Prior to her confirmation as United States Attorney, Carol was a judge of the Superior Court in San Diego, where she presided over a criminal trial calendar. From 1986 to 2000, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of California, where she was Chief of the Major Frauds Section. As a federal prosecutor, Carol convicted several high-ranking members of the Chicago organized crime family La Cosa Nostra; obtained a guilty plea and a civil settlement of $110 million from National Health Laboratories, Inc. in a Medicare fraud case; and briefed and argued the first appellate case upholding the constitutionality of “roving” wiretaps. Carol is a recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and the Director’s Award for Superior Performance as an Assistant United States Attorney. Carol also regularly serves as an NBC analyst.
Chuck Rosenberg, Moderator
Chuck Rosenberg is a senior counsel in Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm's White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement Group. Chuck conducts sensitive internal investigations and counsels corporations and individuals on criminal and regulatory matters. He also represents corporations and individuals in investigations conducted by grand juries, congressional committees, and federal and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
