Chicago – February 3, 2026: World Trademark Review has once again recognized Crowell & Moring as a top trademark firm in its 2026 guide. Crowell received the highest ranking—gold—in Illinois for enforcement and litigation, and prosecution and strategy. The firm also achieved “Recommended” status in the International category and silver in the U.S. National and Belgium categories, and earned recognition as a top firm in California. Crowell is one of only three firms in Illinois to earn a gold ranking both for litigation and prosecution.
Twelve Crowell attorneys received individual accolades: Chicago partners Andrew Avsec, David Fleming, Jeffery Handelman, Howard Michael, and Virginia Wolk Marino; Los Angeles partners Valerie Goo and Kent Goss; Brussels partners Jan-Diederik Lindemans, Kristof Roox, and Edward Taelman; New York partner Preetha Chakrabarti; and Washington, D.C. partner David Ervin. Fleming and Handelman were both identified as top trademark litigators in the U.S. national rankings as well.
In recognizing the U.S.-based parts of the practice, WTR noted that the firm “provide[s] excellent and practical advice on U.S. trademark matters that is easily digestible and produces good results.” The publication referred to the firm’s Belgium practice as a “beacon of excellence” and noted “the team masterfully manages trademark portfolios and navigates the complexities of cross-border disputes.”
