Ellen Dwyer and Don Smith Participate in Diversity & Flexibility Alliance Annual Conference

Washington – November 4, 2021: Ellen Dwyer, chair of Crowell & Moring’s Executive Committee, and Don Smith, chief talent & inclusion officer, participated in the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s virtual annual conference, “Reflect. Reimagine. Recalibrate. Paving the Way to Inclusive Flexibility.”
Dwyer served as a panelist, alongside Morgan, Lewis & Bockius chair Jami Wintz McKeon, during a session on strategies to accelerate the advancement of women to partner and into leadership roles. Dwyer discussed the importance of active sponsorship and succession planning as key strategies to ensure that women benefit from advocacy and that firms purposefully build robust pipelines of women and diverse talent who are prepared to lead client relationships and assume important leadership roles within their firms. The panel was moderated by Manar Morales, president & CEO of the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance.
Smith moderated a session discussing inclusive flexibility in the workplace. The panel tackled issues regarding the intersection of flexibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion, with panelists offering their insights on how to implement workplace initiatives that support a variety of backgrounds, work styles, and life circumstances. Panelists included leaders from Microsoft and Perkins Coie.
