Washington – February 21, 2020: Law360 has recognized Crowell & Moring’s Government Contracts Group as a “Practice Group of the Year” for 2019. This is the tenth consecutive year that the group has received the honor.
“We are honored to earn this recognition from Law360,” said Peter J. Eyre, co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts Group, attributing the honor to the group’s clients. “Our clients are always our focus, and we were fortunate to secure a string of major successes for them this last year.”
Law360 profiled the firm, noting its array of high-profile matters from the past year, including its representation of Amazon Web Services in its defense against the pre-award protest of the Defense Department’s Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) $10-billion cloud-computing contract, one of the biggest contract disputes of the year. The firm also achieved victory on behalf of United Airlines in a False Claims Act case that resulted in a precedential decision that will impact FCA cases moving forward. Law360 also noted that while the practice is “particularly well-known for working with aerospace and defense clients,” they are undertaking work in industries not often thought about in connection with government contracts, such as autonomous vehicles and private equity.
“This honor reflects the true depth and breadth of our government contracts bench, a diverse group of lawyers who are eager to tackle the biggest challenges in our industry,” said Daniel R. Forman, co-chair of Crowell & Moring’s Government Contracts Group. “We look forward to continuing to provide top-notch service to our clients for their most pressing needs.”
