Crowell & Moring Earns Eleventh Straight Recognition in “GIR 100”

Firm News | 2 min read | 11.20.25

Washington – November 20, 2025: Global Investigations Review has named Crowell & Moring’s Investigations and White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement groups to this year’s GIR 100 for the eleventh consecutive year. The GIR 100 is an annual guide to the world’s leading cross-border investigations practices, recognizing 100 firms globally for their demonstrated ability to handle sophisticated government-led and internal investigations. The list is based on extensive research and client feedback.

GIR cited “the practice’s strength lies in its deep bench of former government officials.” Many Crowell attorneys previously served with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of the Treasury, and other enforcement agencies, including alumni of the Enron Task Force, the National Security Division, and the Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community. According to the publication, this institutional experience “underpins the firm’s reputation as a trusted investigations adviser to Fortune 100 and S&P 500 companies navigating parallel criminal, civil and regulatory scrutiny.”

GIR highlighted Crowell’s long-standing success in the enforcement field, noting the firm’s work securing a $16 million FCPA settlement for Sargeant Marine with the Justice Department and representing both the company and a senior executive in parallel investigations in Brazil, Venezuela and Ecuador. The publication also pointed to the firm’s six-year internal investigation for Magyar Telekom, which resulted in a two-year deferred prosecution agreement, and its representation of Ralph Lauren Corporation in dual non-prosecution agreements with the DOJ and SEC, marking the SEC’s first non-prosecution agreement in an FCPA case.

GIR notes Crowell’s recent work also includes representing aerospace and defense company RTX in a multi-agency investigation into financial accounting, internal controls and cost reporting, as well as advising Skechers in an SEC investigation regarding undisclosed executive perquisites and related party transactions.

GIR further recognized Crowell’s deep bench, notably partners Tom Hanusik, a former senior prosecutor at the DOJ and SEC; Philip T. Inglima, chair of Crowell and an experienced defense and enforcement strategist; Kelly T. Currie, a former acting U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York; and Derek Hahn, on the West Coast, who advises multinationals on anti-corruption, customs, and environmental enforcement worldwide.
