World Trademark Review Ranks Crowell & Moring in WTR 1000 2023 Guide

Chicago – February 9, 2023: World Trademark Review has recognized Crowell & Moring as a top trademark firm on both sides of the Atlantic, listing Crowell both in the U.S. national rankings and Belgium national rankings in its 2023 guide. In addition to its U.S. national rankings, Crowell received the highest ranking—gold—in Illinois, and also earned regional recognition in California.

“Patrons and peers alike ‘cannot speak highly enough of the client-driven approach and excellent team-building’ of Crowell & Moring’s trademark practice,” WTR noted. The publication also said that “top-tier companies look to Crowell & Moring and its sharp and dynamic litigators for staunch representation in crucial commercial conflicts.” 

Ten firm attorneys received individual accolades: Chicago partners Andrew AvsecDavid FlemingJeffery HandelmanHoward Michael, and Virginia Wolk Marino; California partners Valerie Goo and Kent Goss; Brussels partners Jan-Diederik Lindemans and Kristof Roox; and New York partner Preetha Chakrabarti. Fleming and Handelman were both identified as top trademark litigators in the national rankings as well.

Senior DOJ Appellate Attorney Elizabeth Hecker Joins Crowell & Moring, Bolstering Education Practice

Elizabeth Hecker, former acting deputy chief and special litigation counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division’s Appellate Section, has joined Crowell & Moring as senior counsel in the Litigation Group. Hecker brings more than two decades of experience leading litigation in the federal court of appeals, with a focus on cases involving education and matters related to Title IV, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
