Washington, D.C. January 27, 2020: Lawyers of Color named three Crowell & Moring partners to its Power List: Ellen Moran Dwyer, Chahira Solh, and John S. Gibson. The list recognizes the most influential minority attorneys and allies in the nation. Gibson and Solh were recognized in the “Law Firm Partners” category, and Dwyer was recognized in the “Allies” category.

The list includes general counsel, managing partners, and law school deans, as well as legal media and nonprofit leaders from around the country. Honorees will be celebrated at a reception at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. on February 26.

Dwyer, chair of the firm’s executive committee, has served as the firm’s managing partner for eight years, general counsel, and chair of its promotions, diversity, and lawyer development committees during her career. She is also currently the chair of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, one of the nation’s pioneer organizations promoting diversity in the legal profession. A driving force in creating the legal industry’s first sponsorship program to advance talented women and diverse lawyers, Dwyer was recognized by Corporate Counsel for her innovative leadership as part of their “Women, Influence and Power in Law” award series. She was also named one of America’s most innovative managing partners by Law360, in part for her efforts to recruit and retain diverse attorneys.

Solh, managing partner of the firm’s Orange County office, is a partner in the firm's Antitrust Group. Her practice focuses on counseling on all aspects of antitrust law, including litigation, joint venture analysis, and merger control. Solh’s practice includes defending clients in civil antitrust litigation as well as representing many Fortune 500 companies as plaintiffs in antitrust recovery actions. She provides counseling on merger clearance, joint ventures, trade association law, the Robinson-Patman Act, and distribution and vertical issues, including pricing policies. She was previously named to Daily Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” California lawyers list. She is active in the California Minority Counsel Program and Orange County United Way, and was previously selected for the Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

Gibson is a member of Crowell & Moring’s Management Board, and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Council. He is a partner in the Litigation Group and chairs the firm’s 3D Printing Digital Transformation Working Group as well as the Antitrust and Technology Working Group. He has made his mark in the legal industry as one of the leading commercial, technology, and antitrust litigators in the nation, a leader at the firm, and a champion of diversity, inclusion, and social justice. He has received multiple accolades for his trial wins and his oral and written advocacy for clients. As a testament to his leadership, he was named “Attorney of the Year” by the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association and one of Savoy Magazine’s “Most Influential Black Lawyers.”

Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities.
