The New York Law Journal Names Partner Glen McGorty a Distinguished Leader

Firm News | 13 min read | 10.24.19

New York – October 24, 2019 – The New York Law Journal recognized Glen G. McGorty, managing partner of Crowell & Moring’s New York office, as a 2019 “Distinguished Leader” at the New York Legal Awards ceremony on Wednesday at Tribeca 360 in New York. The award honors attorneys in leadership roles who have achieved impressive results in the past year.

In addition to serving as the New York office managing partner, McGorty is a member of the firm’s Management Board and its White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group. He is an experienced trial lawyer who served for nearly 15 years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

In an interview with the New York Law Journal, McGorty notes one of his proudest recent achievements: “One is the progress we’ve made in increasing the diversity of our New York partnership. A team of associates, counsel, recruiting professionals, and firm leaders passionate about this issue worked with me to change the composition of the office at the partner level—and it is starting to pay off. It was gratifying to see our early progress gain momentum as new diverse partners contributed to the campaign with initiatives of their own, and I’m proud to say that through recruitment and internal promotion, nearly half of our New York partners, and half of all our New York lawyers, are diverse by gender or otherwise.”

Glen McGorty (center right) and Ilana Lubin (center left) were joined by colleagues and family to celebrate their awards from the New York Law Journal, including Crowell & Moring chair Philip Inglima, Mary Ellen Cerbone, Margaret Ajitsingh, Michelle McGorty, and Rebecca Ricigliano.

McGorty represents corporate entities and individuals in federal and state criminal and regulatory matters, and in investigations conducted by grand juries, congressional committees, independent and special counsel, and international, federal, and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies. He has also led internal investigations for many corporate clients including multiple international financial institutions, a major defense contractor, a global communications company, an international power plant construction company, and a Fortune 100 multinational engineering conglomerate.
