Sadina Montani Participates in Coqual’s Annual Summit

Washington, D.C. – October 12, 2022: Sadina Montani recently participated as a speaker at Coqual’s annual summit entitled “Equity in a Changing World,” held in New York City on September 28. The summit drew the organization’s 100-plus member Task Force, C-suite speakers, and global thought leaders for dynamic and thought-provoking presentations and courageous conversations in person and virtually.

Coqual is a global, nonprofit think tank and advisory group that was founded in 2004 to address bias and uncover barriers to advancement for underrepresented populations in the workplace.

Montani, a partner in Crowell’s Labor & Employment Group, participated in a panel discussion entitled “Protecting Employee Rights in a Post-Dobbs World,” alongside Melissa Murray, Frederick I. and Grace Stokes Professor of Law, NYU School of Law, and Cecile Richards, activist and former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Montani, Murray, and Richards discussed the private sector’s role in ensuring individuals have access to reproductive health care, the broader implications of the Dobbs decision, and the practical issues employers have been facing in the months since the Dobbs decision.

Montani represents employers in state and federal courts and before various administrative agencies, defending claims of race, sex, disability and age discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations (including class actions), and wage payment claims. She is a past president of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia (WBADC), serving during the 2020-2021 Bar year. Founded in 1917, WBADC is one of the oldest and largest voluntary bar associations in metropolitan Washington, D.C. and one of the oldest women’s bar associations in the nation.
