Brussels – June 12, 2019: Crowell & Moring is pleased to announce that its Brussels Intellectual Property Group has been featured in the Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) 1000 - The World's Leading Patent Practitioners guide for the sixth consecutive year. IAM also recognized Brussels partners Kristof Roox and Jan-Diederik Lindemans, and senior counsel Gunther Meyer.
Crowell & Moring received a “gold” band ranking as one of four leading firms handling litigation and transactions in Brussels. The guide describes the firm as “the go-to firm for generic pharmaceutical manufacturers” and handling matters with “creativity, perseverance and a no-nonsense approach.” The publication also highlights the intellectual property team’s representation of Apotex, noting that they recently secured a crucial judgment for Apotex concerning cholesterol-lowering drugs by contesting the validity of Merck Sharp & Dohme’s supplementary protection certificate.
Roox, co-managing partner of the firm’s Brussels office, is described as a life sciences litigator with “encyclopedic knowledge and phenomenal experience” and “a fierce fighter with excellent advocacy skills.” Roox received a “gold” band ranking as one of the five most recognized lawyers handling litigation and transactions. Lindemans is recognized as an “authoritative and clear litigator.” He was among 15 lawyers to receive a “silver” band ranking in the “Individuals: litigation and transactions” category. Meyer is highlighted for bringing his “vast experience in multi-jurisdictional litigation and transactions to the practice.” Meyer was among 14 lawyers to receive a “bronze” band ranking in the “Individuals: litigation and transactions” category.
The guide also notes Roox and Lindemans’ recent victory convincing the Brussels Court of Appeal to lift an injunction on clients Sandoz and Mylan, which allowed them to put their Tadalafil products back on the market.
