Washington, D.C., February 28, 2017: Crowell & Moring LLP represented NRG Yield, Inc. in negotiating an agreement to acquire interests in an 820 MW portfolio of eight solar generating facilities in Arizona and Utah from NRG Energy, Inc. for $130 million in cash plus assumed non-recourse project debt of $464 million. The transaction is expected to close in the next 60 days. The Crowell & Moring team included partner Patrick W. Lynch, counsel Nicholas James, partner Scott J. Elizabeth Hecker, former acting deputy chief and special litigation counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division’s Appellate Section, has joined Crowell & Moring as senior counsel in the Litigation Group. Hecker brings more than two decades of experience leading litigation in the federal court of appeals, with a focus on cases involving education and matters related to Title IV, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
