Washington, D.C. – October 24, 2013: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that the firm received the Human Rights First 2013 "Marvin Frankel Award" at the 35th Anniversary Human Rights First awards dinner in New York on October 23.

According to Human Rights First, Crowell & Moring was honored because of its steadfast commitment to pro bono work. Since 1996, the firm's Washington, D.C. office has taken on the cases of more than 40 refugees seeking asylum through Human Rights First program, nine of those since 2012. The organization also noted that the firm serves as a model for others, not to mention the results that commitment has achieved: a grant of protection for every client whose case has been decided to date.

The Marvin Frankel Award, established in 2002, pays tribute to law firms and individuals carrying on Judge Frankel's dedication to human rights by demonstrating extraordinary commitment to pro bono service. Only two firms and one lawyer were honored this year.

Human Rights First is an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals. For more information, visit www.humanrightsfirst.org.
