BLOCKCHAIN: Healthcare Applications, Legal Challenges, and Moving Beyond the Hype Cycle

The presenter of the Blockchain / Distributed Ledger Technology Teleconference is Jodi Daniel. Ms. Daniel is a partner in Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C. office. She’s a member of the firm's Health Care Group and leader of the Firms Digital Health Practice. Ms. Daniel joined the Firm following 10 years of service as the founding director of the Office of Policy in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and after serving in the Office of the General Counsel at HHS for five years.

In this program Ms. Daniel will present an introduction to Blockchain technology for Blue Plan attorneys. In this Blockchain 101 program you’ll learn what Blockchain, or Distributed Ledger Technology is, how it’s used today and how it’s expected to be used in the future. She’ll discuss use cases, activity in healthcare, activity more generally (e.g., financial and insurance sectors) and activity at HHS. She’ll discuss legal and governance issues arising from the use of this technology and answer your questions.

This legal education program is offered without charge to Blue Plan Legal Department employees and their invited (in-house) colleagues.
