International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)

Overview

Crowell is one of the leading firms for companies dealing with the impact of the tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). We have filed more than 200 complaints with the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) in connection with this matter and secured a stipulation from the government that it will not contest reliquidation of many of our clients’ customs entries. We are also defending a number of follow-on class actions concerning the impact of the IEEPA tariffs on consumers.

In addition, Crowell filed an important amicus brief before the Supreme Court on behalf of a group of distinguished professors and former politicians, judges, and trade officials, and previously filed versions of its brief in the lower courts, where plaintiffs prevailed, including in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), which upheld the CIT’s ruling that the IEEPA tariffs are unlawful.

As a result of our representation of hundreds of clients in both IEEPA recovery litigation and follow-on class actions, we are confident Crowell can be your go-to resource for IEEPA support.
