Becky Valentine serves as a trusted advisor to companies navigating their most consequential antitrust transactions, investigations, and regulatory challenges. A partner in Crowell & Moring’s Antitrust and Competition Group and a former trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Becky brings rare frontline insight into how regulators assess and challenge anticompetitive conduct and complex mergers, particularly in the defense, aerospace, industrial, health care, and consumer products sectors. Having helped lead government review of some of the nation’s most significant deals and conduct investigations, she now advises boards, C-suite executives, and in-house legal teams with the strategic judgment, credibility, and practical precision needed to manage risk, secure approvals, and execute with confidence.

Washington – September 16, 2026: Crowell & Moring announced today the addition of two senior antitrust attorneys from the U.S. Justice Department (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Group. Rebecca Valentine joins Crowell as a partner in Washington, D.C. from the DOJ Antitrust Division’s Defense, Industrials, and Aerospace (DIA) Section. Ryan Harsch will join the firm as a senior counsel in New York from the FTC’s American Competition Enforcement Division and Northeast Regional Office.

- Led vertical theory legal analysis in the CVS Health/Aetna and Cigna/ESI mergers.
- Led DOJ investigations in Amcor/Bemis, Danfoss/Eaton, Cargotec/Konecranes, and Fresh Express/Dole matters.
- Primary role on Raytheon/UTC, UTC/Rockwell Collins, and Danone/WhiteWave merger investigations.
