Overview

Coco Arima is a valued member of the firm’s Health Care Group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial and business litigation, defending clients across a variety of industries, including managed care, financial services, and industrial product manufacturing and distribution.

Coco has worked on a broad spectrum of issues, such as breach of contract, payor/provider disputes, fraud, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), trade secrets, bad faith, and Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) claims. Coco has experience handling various aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions for summary judgment, expert vetting and retention, and taking depositions in both state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. She uses her versatile knowledge to assess risk and counsel clients on developing programs and policies to address unique litigation and compliance issues across markets.

In addition to her professional work, Coco is deeply committed to pro bono legal service, with a specific focus on advocating for prisoners’ rights and immigration matters. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Coco served as a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Graduate Fellow at UIC John Marshall Law School's Pro Bono Litigation Clinic. During her time there, she provided valuable assistance to low-income residents facing a wide array of legal challenges, including expungements, prisoners’ rights issues, and cases involving discrimination. Additionally, she has volunteered her time at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic.
