Chicago – July 30, 2026: Managing Intellectual Property has recognized nine Crowell & Moring attorneys and five practice areas in its 2026 IP Stars rankings for the United States, underscoring the depth, breadth, and technical strength of the firm’s global Intellectual Property practice, which includes more than 100 attorneys, patent agents and technical advisors. The guide “covers a variety of IP practice areas and more than 80 jurisdictions, making it the most comprehensive and widely respected IP practitioner guide in the legal profession.”  

Washington – June 10, 2026: Crowell & Moring has been recommended in eight practice areas in the 19th edition of the Legal 500 United States. In addition, partner Daniel Forman, co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts Group, has been named to the Legal 500’s “Hall of Fame” for Government Contracts, and partner David (Dj) Wolff, co-chair of the firm’s International Trade Group, has been named a “Leading Partner” in International Trade and National Security.

Washington – June 4, 2026: Crowell & Moring earned 92 individual rankings for 81 attorneys, as well as 48 national and statewide practice area rankings, in the Chambers USA 2026 guide. The Chambers guide ranks the country’s top law firms and lawyers through in-depth research, client interviews, and feedback from attorneys at peer firms. 

Washington – February 24, 2026: Chambers and Partners has ranked 13 Crowell & Moring practice groups and 20 individual lawyers in the Chambers Global 2026 guide.

Irvine, Calif. – January 27, 2026: John Paik, an intellectual property attorney with more than two decades of experience at leading law firms and technology companies, has joined Crowell & Moring as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department in Orange County.

Washington – June 6, 2024: Crowell & Moring earned 78 rankings for 67 lawyers, as well as 41 national and statewide practice area rankings, in the Chambers USA 2024 guide. The rankings are driven by independent interviews of clients and lawyers at peer firms.

Washington – June 6, 2024: Intellectual Asset Management recognized Crowell & Moring in its IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners guide, awarding the firm a gold band ranking as one of the top three firms handling patent litigation and transactions in Belgium, and a silver ranking for the firm’s Chicago office. The firm was also recommended nationally in the United States for trade secrets litigation. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that the firm has been ranked in the guide in Belgium.

Washington, D.C. – July 27, 2015: Crowell & Moring LLP's Litigation & Trial Department has received American Lawyer's "Global Legal Award" for "Global Dispute of the Year: U.S. Litigation" and "Global Pro Bono Dispute of the Year." The honors were given for Crowell & Moring's work in DuPont v. Kolon, one of the largest trade secrets case of its kind, and David. v. Signal, a pro bono case that was one of the largest human trafficking cases in history. 

Washington, D.C. – June 24, 2015: Crowell & Moring is pleased to announce that its Brussels Intellectual Property Group has again been featured in the gold category of the Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) 1000 - The World's Leading Patent Practitioners guide. IAM also named Brussels partners Kristof Roox and Jan-Diederik Lindemans as leaders in their practice area. The IAM rankings are based on interviews with in-house counsel and peer firms and highlight top practitioners in key jurisdictions around the globe who are deemed outstanding in their areas.

Washington, D.C. – June 9, 2015: Aquarian Systems, Inc. (Aquarian) and two of its employees have prevailed in a trade secret lawsuit filed against the company by ProLogic Inc. On June 5, ProLogic voluntarily dismissed—without a settlement—the remaining claims in its $25 million suit, which accused Aquarian and two former ProLogic employees who became employees of Aquarian of trade secret misappropriation, tortious interference, and breach of contract. The claims in the complaint centered around the alleged misappropriation of software created by ProLogic and delivered to the U.S. Department of State (DoS), to which DoS had a broad license. Additionally, ProLogic alleged that the defendants tortiously interfered with ProLogic's business expectancy by submitting a proposal for, and winning, a new DoS contract, which was established as a small business set aside for which ProLogic was ineligible. Crowell & Moring represented Aquarian in this matter, as well as the individual defendants after the claims against Aquarian were dismissed on May 6, 2015.
