Speaking Engagement | 10.02.26

On October 2, 2026, Partner Matthew F. Ferraro co-presented a webinar sponsored by the American Bar Association on “Seeing Isn’t Believing: A Lawyer’s Guide to Cybercrime and Deepfakes in 2026.”

Drawing on the ABA Cybersecurity Handbook for which Mr. Ferraro authored the chapter “Dealing with Deepfakes: The Role for Lawyers and Law Firms,” this webinar addressed the full spectrum of modern cybercrime, including malware, social engineering, business email compromise, and the rapidly evolving world of synthetic media.

A leading authority on the legal, evidentiary, and business risks of deepfakes, Mr. Ferraro has been writing, speaking, and developing U.S. government policy related to AI-generated media and deepfakes for many years. He recently testified before the U.S. Senate on the threats deepfakes pose to Americans, particularly U.S. seniors, and he regularly counsels clients on both combatting the dangers of deepfakes and pursuing lawful and ethical uses of AI-generated media.
