Washington – November 19, 2020: The Washington Business Journal recognized Crowell & Moring as one of Washington's most philanthropic law firms on its 2020 Corporate Philanthropy List for the eighth consecutive year. The list honors the Washington region's most “active and inspirational” companies and nonprofits that have made a difference in their communities through financial and volunteer philanthropic work, charitable giving, volunteer hours, and pro bono work.
Crowell & Moring ranked 9th among 25 area law firms for legal service to those who cannot afford lawyers, with 31,694 hours contributed in 2019 by the firm's Washington, D.C. office. The firm provided pro bono counseling to clients on a wide range of issues, including the death penalty; discrimination in public accommodations; voting rights; and asylum.
As evidence of the firm’s commitment to giving back to the community, the firm established the C&M Foundation in 1999 as a separate nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting organizations that focus on education as a way of breaking the cycle of poverty for low-income individuals and at-risk youth.
