New York—December 16, 2019— Crain’s New York Business named Crowell & Moring partners Stephanie Marcantonio, Holly Melton, and Rebecca Ricigliano “Notable Women in Law.” The list recognizes talented and dedicated female attorneys in New York who have contributed significantly to the region through their professional, personal, and philanthropic activities.

In Crain’s 2020 Notable Women in Law feature, the publication highlights attorneys “who are passionate about serving their clients and staying on top of their game.” Nominees are assessed for exceptional achievements during the year, support of nonprofit or community groups, and demonstrated leadership ability.

Crain’s profile on Marcantonio notes her work with health care providers, payers, and tax-exempt entities on corporate, transactional, regulatory, and governance matters, as well as lenders and borrowers in health care financings, counseling them on funding nursing facilities, assisted-living facilities and other health care providers, and related securitizations. The publication also notes her role as a board member for Support Our Aging Religious, a nonprofit organization that provides grants to help religious congregations care for elderly and infirm members.

Regarding Melton, vice-chair of Crowell & Moring’s Advertising and Media Group, Crain’s noted her representation of AT&T in a false advertising case against Sprint that settled right before a preliminary injunction hearing; the significant time she devotes to recruiting for the New York Office, ensuring its commitment to diversity; and her pro bono cases, which include representing a Venezuelan man seeking asylum due to abuses suffered in his country based on his sexual orientation.

Crain’s noted Ricigliano’s background as a former First Assistant Attorney General of New Jersey and federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. Focused on government investigations, independent monitorships and trial advocacy on behalf of corporate and individual clients, Ricigliano is a member of the Federal Bar Council’s Inn of Court, where she mentors young attorneys, and is the recipient of the True American Hero Award from the Federal Drug Agents Foundation and of the Investigations Award for Excellence from the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.

“We are absolutely delighted that Crain’s has recognized these exceptional leaders, and among such distinguished company,” said Glen G. McGorty, managing partner of Crowell & Moring’s New York office. “We are equally grateful for the role they all play as superlative mentors and models for their colleagues and associates in our New York office, and as a result we expect that many will be similarly recognized in the years to come.”

This honor follows several recent firmwide accolades for Crowell & Moring’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace in which everyone can pursue a successful career. In 2019, Crowell & Moring achieved Mansfield Rule 2.0 Certification and was ranked among Working Mother’s “Best Law Firms for Women” for the eighth consecutive year. The firm has received a 100 percent score on the HRC's Corporate Equality Index for eight consecutive years and was named an LCLD Top Performer during the last four consecutive years, earning the organization’s Compass Award in 2018 and 2019.
