Los Angeles – June 5, 2024: The Los Angeles Business Journal named Crowell & Moring partners Valerie M. Goo and Jennie Wang VonCannon to its list of Women of Influence: Attorneys 2024. The list recognizes women lawyers in Los Angeles for their “exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.”

Goo, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office, has more than two decades of experience as a trial lawyer. She has tried numerous cases in federal and state courts across the country in the areas of complex commercial litigation, trademark infringement, unfair competition, trade secrets, false advertising, and consumer class action. Goo routinely litigates cases for technology companies, including disputes over development and supply agreements.

The LABJ states that Goo “currently represents several large companies in fiercely fought intellectual property, commercial disputes and trade secrets cases between competitors.”

VonCannon is a partner in Crowell’s White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement and Privacy and Cybersecurity groups, where she helps clients in crisis with litigation, internal investigations, law enforcement and regulatory inquiries and subpoenas, and cybersecurity and privacy incidents. She is certified as both an AI Governance Professional (AIGP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). Prior to joining Crowell, she served for over eleven years as a federal prosecutor, including as the Deputy Chief of the Cyber and Intellectual Property Crimes Section of the National Security Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.

The LABJ acknowledged VonCannon as “a highly accomplished trial lawyer and advisor with a strong record of success in both legal and corporate arenas” and for serving as “a resource for clients facing crises, providing guidance on litigation, internal investigations, law enforcement inquiries, cybersecurity incidents and regulatory matters.”
