Karnikian, senior counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Transportation Group, brings more than a decade of experience advising airlines, cargo operators, Fortune 500 companies, and emerging technology companies. Karnikian leads the commercial aviation practice where she brings deep expertise and innovative solutions to the industry’s most high-stakes matters. Her practice encompasses a variety of aviation matters, including fleet transactions, supply chain and maintenance operations, regulatory compliance, and asset finance.
Among her notable representations, Karnikian led the transition of a quarter of a client’s aircraft fleet to multiple operators, structured a maritime leasing and finance company's entry into aircraft ownership and management and served as aviation counsel for a client’s groundbreaking low Earth orbit satellite connectivity initiative.
Beyond her practice, Karnikian is a committed mentor and community leader. She serves on the executive committee of the Armenian Women's Bar Association, dedicates her time to mentorship initiatives, and is a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Air & Space Law.

Crowell & Moring Relocates D.C. Office to Newly Redeveloped Space In Penn Quarter
Washington – June 3, 2026: Crowell & Moring has moved into new office space at the recently redeveloped former headquarters of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The firm occupies nearly 200,000 square feet over the top six floors of the building. Even with the firm’s significant expansion in DC, its new space is nearly 50% less than its previous footprint.
