Rosemary M. Collyer Receives Senate Confirmation as Judge for the US District Court for the District of Columbia

Washington, D.C. – November 22, 2002: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that partner Rosemary M. Collyer received full Senate confirmation to be the judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

"This is a tremendous honor for Rosemary, but we hate to see her go," says Chairman John Macleod. "You just don't replace someone with all her qualities - an exceptional lawyer, a great leader, and a true and dear friend. Rosemary will be a fabulous judge, and she will carry our support with her."

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, ROSEMARY M. COLLYER was appointed by former President Ronald Reagan to serve as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (1984-1989). Ms. Collyer was previously appointed by President Reagan to serve as Chairman of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission (1981-1984). The Commission adjudicates cases involving mine safety and health violations in coal and hardrock mines throughout the U.S. Both President Appointments required confirmation by the U.S. Senate. She was an attorney with the law firm of Sherman & Howard in Denver, Colorado, before her government service. Ms. Collyer graduated with honors from Trinity College, Washington, D.C., in 1968 and with honors from the University of Denver College of Law in 1977, where she was a member of the Law Review. Ms. Collyer is a member of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and has been a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She is a member of the bars of the State of Colorado and the District of Columbia.
