Robert Meyers to Testify Before House Energy and Commerce Committee on Clean Air Act and Outer Continental Shelf Activities

Washington, D.C. – April 12, 2011: Crowell & Moring LLP senior counsel Robert Meyers will testify before the U.S. House of Representative's Energy and Commerce Committee, Subcommittee on Energy and Power, on Wednesday, April 13 at 10:00 am. The Committee will conduct a hearing on the "Jobs and Energy Permitting Act of 2011" to amend the Clean Air Act regarding air pollution from Outer Continental Shelf activities.  

With more than three decades of Washington experience in energy, utility, automobile, and agricultural issues, Meyers formerly led the Office of Air and Radiation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, having served as Assistant Administrator (Acting) and Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator. As an attorney in Crowell & Moring's Environment & Natural Resources Group, Meyers provides counseling, regulatory, and legislative representation for clients on issues such as the Clean Air Act and climate change.  

Other witnesses will include: Dan Sullivan, commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources; Scott Goldsmith, professor in the University of Alaska Anchorage's Institute for Social and Economic Studies; Richard Glenn, executive vice president of the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation; David Lawrence, executive vice president for exploration and commercial at Shell; Rosemary Ahtuangaruak, former mayor of Nuiqsut, Alaska; and Erik Grafe, staff attorney for Earthjustice.
