Preston Pugh Elected to the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section Council

Washington – October 7, 2021: Crowell & Moring partner Preston Pugh has been elected to the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section Council. The Criminal Justice Section brings together a “diverse membership of judges, private criminal defense attorneys, prosecutors, public defenders, academics, and other professionals,” and as part of the Section’s leadership, Pugh will assist with the implementation of the organization’s goal of “addressing today’s most pressing criminal justice issues.”

A member of the firm’s Government Contracts and Labor & Employment groups, Pugh helps companies, board committees and large organizations respond to high stakes whistleblower complaints and substantial reputational concerns. He is an experienced trial and investigations lawyer, and co-leads the False Claims Act Practice. He has helped clients navigate many different types of crises, including commercial and government contract fraud investigations; C-suite corporate ethics concerns; whistleblower retaliation claims; broad-based harassment and discrimination complaints; and other types of government investigations, including by Congress.

Pugh is co-chair of the ABA CJS Qui Tam subcommittee, a co-chair of the ABA Global Anticorruption Committee, and a member of the ABA task force that drafted the first-ever ABA standards for corporate monitors.
