Washington – October 19, 2017: Crowell & Moring LLP announced today the firm's partnership elected Philip T. Inglima, a member of the firm’s Management Board and partner in the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group, to serve as the next chair of the firm. Inglima will succeed current chair Angela Styles.

Inglima, who is based in Washington, has served on the firm’s Executive Committee for the past two years and on the firm’s governing Management Board since 2012. Additionally, he is the former co-chair of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group and is a member and past chair of the firm’s Diversity Council. He has nearly 30 years of legal experience in private practice and with the government. At Crowell & Moring, Inglima has represented corporations and individuals in a broad range of criminal and civil matters in trial and appellate court. From 2006 to 2008, he served as a member of Georgetown University's Board of Directors and as the president of Georgetown's Alumni Association.

“I am honored to be elected to serve as chair of Crowell & Moring and to help carry on our firm’s great tradition of client service and commitment to one another and our communities,” Inglima said. “Crowell & Moring’s story is one of shared success, rooted in a culture of inclusiveness and a passion for delivering excellence for our clients.

“We are grateful to Angela for her contributions to the firm as our partner and throughout her term as chair. Crowell & Moring had its most profitable year ever in 2016, and this year promises continued success. Over the years, Angela has made significant improvements to the business operations of the firm and helped the firm grow and diversify its national brand,” Inglima added.

Styles said, “I've had the pleasure of serving on the Management Board with Phil for many years. I am proud to have served as chair of Crowell & Moring and all that we have accomplished in recent years. It has been an honor to serve on the leadership team and advance the firm's efforts to provide premier client service and positively impact our communities.”

Inglima is an experienced trial lawyer and counselor whose practice has focused on criminal frauds and parallel civil and regulatory enforcement proceedings. He frequently conducts internal investigations for corporations and has extensive experience in handling grand jury and congressional investigations. Throughout his career, Inglima has maintained an active commitment to pro bono representation, handling dozens of criminal defense and post-conviction clients. His successful client results have ranged from dismissals and probationary sentences to a presidential commutation of an individual serving a lengthy mandatory minimum sentence and a successful writ of actual innocence for a wrongly convicted individual. He previously served as a Senior Associate Independent Counsel in the investigation of then-Secretary of the Department of the Interior Bruce Babbitt.

A graduate of Georgetown University's College of Arts & Sciences and a graduate of Georgetown Law Center, Inglima has also served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law Center, teaching a course in Federal White Collar Crime.
