OCCDL Recognizes Orange County Office as a Top Diverse Legal Organization, Names Eric Fanchiang and Matthew Troncali Top Diverse Young Lawyers

Orange County – December 8, 2021: The Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law (OCCDL) has named Crowell & Moring’s Orange County Office as a 2021 “Top Diverse Legal Organization for DEI in OC” and named Eric Fanchiang and Matthew Troncali to its list of 2021 “Top Young Diverse Lawyers in OC.” The coalition honors legal organizations and young diverse attorneys who provide excellent legal services and work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Orange County community.

“We are thrilled that our office has been selected for this honor,” said Chahira Solh, managing partner of the Orange County Office and a member of the firm’s Management Board. “At Crowell & Moring, we prioritize diversity and inclusion efforts because there is no more important role for a law firm to take when looking toward the future than supporting lawyers of historically underrepresented backgrounds and identities,”

The firm’s Orange County office represents national and international clients in litigation and arbitration, regulatory, and transactional matters. Since its opening in 1991, the office and its lawyers have received numerous honors that reflect its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Prominent roles held by the office’s lawyers include serving as president of the Public Law Center; board member of the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association; president of the Association of Business Trial Attorneys of Orange County and the Federal Bar Association-Orange County; and co-chair of the Orange County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee.

Fanchiang and Troncali are associates in the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Group.

Fanchiang’s practice focuses on antitrust litigation for both defendants and plaintiffs and on government investigations. Among his other recent engagements, Fanchiang was a member of the team representing AT&T during the regulatory investigation, litigation, and appeal brought by the U.S. Department of Justice to block AT&T’s $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner. He serves as director of the Orange County Asian American Bar Association and is a member of the Governing Council of the University of California, Irvine School of Law Alumni Association.

Troncaliconcentrates his practice onantitrust recovery and antitrust class actions, He pursues and maximizes recoveries on behalf of a broad range of national and international clients in complex antitrust settlements. Over three years, he has helped clients recover more than $53 million. Prior to joining the firm, Troncali focused on business-related transactions and litigation in state and federal courts, using his multidisciplinary experience in law, business, and technology to comprehensively counsel clients. He serves as a board member and a former president of the Orange County Lavender Bar Association, the official association of LGBT and allied attorneys, judges, and law students in Orange County.
