New York Law Journal Names Michelle Gitlitz a “New York Trailblazer”

New York – September 23, 2020: The New York Law Journal has named partner Michelle Ann Gitlitz, global head of Crowell & Moring’s Blockchain and Digital Assets practice, to its 2020 list of New York Trailblazers. The feature recognizes New York lawyers who have made significant marks on the practice, policy, and technological advancement of their practices.
Gitlitz told the New York Law Journal that breaking into the novel area of blockchain law in 2016 allowed for creativity in advising her clients, often emerging technology companies, from formation to funding to product launch. She sees virtual currency and blockchain technology becoming more mainstream as companies begin adopting them. “I think it’s going to transform the way people do business,” Gitlitz remarked.
Gitlitz’s practice focuses on the legal and regulatory issues facing both emerging and established companies that invest in and incorporate blockchain technology and digital assets into their businesses. She is a sought-after leader, speaker, and writer who frequently collaborates with federal legislators on blockchain and digital asset issues. Gitlitz also founded and serves as president and director of Diversity in Blockchain, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to creating equal, open, and inclusive opportunities in the blockchain industry.
