Corporate Finance and Securities Partner to Bolster Growing Practice Group >
Washington, D.C. – September 12, 2005: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce the addition of partner Morris F. DeFeo, Jr., to the firm's expanding Corporate Group. Based in the Washington, DC office, DeFeo has over 20 years experience practicing corporate and securities law, most recently as managing principal of Miles & Stockbridge's Northern Virginia office. DeFeo is also the former executive vice president for corporate and international transactions of a Nasdaq-listed technology company. The addition of DeFeo will be the eleventh new lateral hire within the last three years for the group, which consists of 27 attorneys in Washington, DC, California, Brussels, and London.

DeFeo's expertise encompasses all facets of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and securities transactions. He represents clients in connection with public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, including initial public offerings and shelf-registered offerings, Rule 144A high yield debt offerings, international joint ventures, mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and dispositions, exchange and NASDAQ listings and compliance with the registration, proxy solicitation, and periodic reporting requirements of the U.S. securities laws.
DeFeo also offers unique experience to companies with ties to Asia and has led efforts to form strategic relationships in the region. He was a visiting attorney in the law firm of Yuasa and Hara in Tokyo, Japan, and was appointed by the Governor of Virginia as a member of the Virginia Delegation to the 27th and 28th Annual Joint Meetings of the Japan-USSE Association & SEUS/Japan Association. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
