Law360 Names Randa Adra a 2024 Rising Star for International Arbitration

New York – August 12, 2024: Law360 honored Crowell & Moring partner Randa Adra as a Rising Star in International Arbitration. The award honors attorneys under 40 “whose legal accomplishments belie their age.”

Adra is a partner in Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolution and Litigation groups, serving as a strategic advisor on international commercial and investment arbitration matters under the rules of all major arbitral institutions and across a broad spectrum of industries. She also has a robust domestic arbitration and litigation practice, and works on complex matters at the cross-section of these practice areas. She has particular experience with disputes involving the Middle East and North Africa region.

Adra was recognized for her pivotal role in several high-stakes and high-value international disputes with successful outcomes. These matters ranged from a complex infrastructure dispute involving hundreds of pages of submissions in both English and Arabic, to her work on behalf of a hotel client that has spanned over a decade and most recently ended in a final award in the client’s favor.

When asked what motivates her, Adra emphasized that client trust is at the heart of her practice. “To earn that trust is no small feat . . . It can happen with a big win, which is always great, but in my experience most of the time it’s actually earned in many small moments: When a client reaches out with a time-sensitive question and needs a quick answer that’s the right answer, or when they need a creative solution to a challenge that they’re facing.”

In addition, Adra has an active pro bono docket and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Women's Leadership Initiative, “where she looks to support women attorneys and professional staff in getting the empowerment they need to succeed in a legal career.” She also co-founded Crowell’s MENA Affinity Group. An active member in numerous industry organizations, she currently serves on the Board of ArabArb, an association she co-founded that serves the arbitration community with roots, affinity, or interest in the Arab World.
